FACCT has been formed to combat the threat to the Hunting Act posed by David Cameron and the Conservatives.
It took over 80 years of campaigning for the Hunting Act to be introduced, making the hunting of wild animals with dogs illegal. This Act, though not strong enough at present, was a major victory for wild animals. It was designed to protect them from activities such as fox hunting, hare coursing and stag hunting, all of which involve prolonged suffering to the animals involved. Yet David Cameron has vowed that, should he get into power, he will allow the Act to be overturned.
With 73% of the public being against hunting due to the vast cruelty involved, David Cameron is keeping this very quiet. You will not find any reference to it on the Conservative Party manifesto, nor will you hear him speaking of his love of hunting and shooting publically. He knows that the public would be disgusted and horrified that not only does he participate in these bloodsports, but he is prepared to put his own beliefs above those of the public and make this barbaric "sport" legal once more.

A recent survey by the Countryside Alliance, a pressure group, found that of 120 Tory candidates in marginal seats only one was against repealing the ban and he said that he would abstain on any vote.
We cannot allow this to happen, so we are asking YOU to help us prevent David Cameron and the Conservatives from getting into power.
If the Conservatives win at the next general election (which could be at any point in the next year) the Hunting Act will be overturned and hunters will return to causing this vast suffering, distress and pain to wild animals without fear of legal repurcussions.
